The whole idea for this part of the layout was to allow the Queens Wharf sections to be mounted on a trolley and then pushed into position when the layout was in use. This photo shows the two base modules connected to their trolley and pushed up against the front of the “permanent” layout. This is where the trolley was stored when not in use to run trains from Morpeth onto Queens Wharf. I kept the QW modules in place with four small G clamps. The lessons I learnt from this whole experience was more than just about layout construction: I came to really appreciate having the trolley mounted on wheels. These days I mount almost everythig on wheels to make it easy to move things around the workshop.
